FROM THE CHAIRMAN:

Greetings ABATE of Arkansas,

At our last State BOD, it was decided that it is time to re-invent the wheel. By that we mean, it‟s time for ABATE to forge some new directions. We are still ABATE of course, but some of what we have been doing over the years is just not working out so well. It is time for us to begin the process of making ABATE a force to be recognized and admired once again.

What does it take to accomplish this? First of all it takes dedication to the cause. Second, it takes people willing to stand up and stand together. Third, it will take some new and fresh ideas.

How can you help? Step one is to pay very close attention to your district elections in November. Be selective in who you vote in. Just because someone is willing to do the job, does not mean they are the best choice for the job. Make no bones about it, this is a JOB. Freedom is not and never has been FREE! Find the best of the best and get them involved. We need intelligent, reliable, freedom loving, ABATE patriots in elected positions for 2012. As most of you know, 2012 is important on many, many levels and we will be involved in most of them.

What else can you do? Send us Reps to the State BOD meetings that are willing to dig in and work. We don‟t need reps that are just interested in having a title or that show up to a meeting and immediately start asking when are we going to adjourn. Those folks can still be ABATE members, sure, but they don‟t need to be representing you and your district in key decision making. Most of our current Reps are very good, but a few, not so much. Ya‟ll know what to do.

We need and want everyone that rides including sport bikes, sport touring, dual sport, cruisers, and scooters, hardcore or lightweight, in state or out of state. If they ride, sign them up. Carry tri-folds with you everywhere you go.

Best of luck in your November elections and the State officers will be out and about over the next few months visiting different district events, so hope to see you somewhere.
